2/20 Mild - Wendy (our daughter) fell on a
uneven stone sidewalk that wasn't lighted at a friend's home. They
live in Washington, PA but this was in another area. The ambulance
was called because she split her leg wide open on a stone and her ankle
was twisted. They couldn't move her until the ambulance came.
They were told that the closest trauma center was in Pittsburgh so
they life-flighted her to Allegheny Hospital. We got a call around
12:30 am. Thank God, after examining her, they
determined that the ankle was not broken. She has a very bad
sprain and has an air cast on. The leg/knee was cut open and took
38 stitches to close. They don't think there was damage to the
knee but she has to go to her own orthopedic doctor and have more tests.
She wanted to go home after all of this and she will be incapacitated
for a while, but we hope and pray for a full recovery. We didn't get
much sleep last night! Thanks for your prayers. Carolyn

Thanks for all of your love, support and prayers in this time of trials

2/11 Carolyn Van Cise: Thanks for your prayers! Following a 5 hour appointment on Thursday, I was told I have Blepharitis. It is an inflammation of the edges of the eyelids. It causes irritation and itching and blurring of vision and is caused by bacteria. It is not contagious. I believe I have had this since October 1st when the local doctor treated me for pink eye and I had to delay a surgery in Pittsburgh and change an appointment to a later date in Baltimore. My last appointment was right after Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh and I saw 2 doctors who didn’t know how to help me. I called the woman who had done 2 surgeries on me in Pittsburgh and begged her to set me up with another doctor. I have waited for over 2 months for this appointment. Tests were given. However, the diagnosis was given by one neuro opthamalogist and confirmed by another one. It is difficult to cure. It could take as long as 4 months. The doctor wants me to call her in a month to see if there is an improvement. I am going to call on Monday and see if I can’t make an appointment to see her rather than just calling. I have 2 different creams I put on twice a day, an antibiotic I take twice a day and whenever I think of it I’m to put a warm washcloth on my eyes. The doctors did say that my sight may be ok but this disease is causing blurring. I cannot read with my left eye. They said this may very well be because the disease is much worse in my left eye than my right. Two eyelashes on my bottom right eyelid and two eyelashes on my bottom left eye were pointing inward and touching my eyes. The doctor pulled these out. So this is my story. I am encouraged that there is a possible good ending to this! |
|
2/11 BAKER: Pray for David Uber, Annie's brother, as he is hospitalized with leukemia and pneumonia. |
|
2/8 Carolyn Van Cise: I’m about to walk out the door to drive to a friend's home in Pittsburgh. She will be taking me tomorrow, Thursday, to the Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital for a 4 to 6 hour test to see if anything further can be done for my eyes. She will be able to go back home and the doctor’s office will call her when I can be picked up. I will drive home on Friday. I am going to a neuro opthamalogist. I think my blinking has improved but I’m not sure. My left eye does wake me up during the night with some pain and watering. I am not able to read with my left eye. In fact I have it covered with non-see through scotch tape in order to read with my right eye. I’ll let you know the results. Thanks for your prayers.

1/30 BOMBECK: I wanted to update you all here on my job
hunt. First, let me say that we as a family are thankful for the
promises in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future. and in Matthew 6: 25 when Jesus said “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about
your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will
wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? In this trying time of unemployment we cling
to these verses as a firm, unwavering promise from our Lord and Savior.
We do continue to covet your prayers as I have had two interviews to
date: (1) Otis Spunkmeyer (2) Kelloggs. I have another interview
with Otis Spunkmeyer scheduled for the week of Feb. 13th and
so far with Otis I have had a phone interview, a face to face interview
and have taken two online tests. The hiring manager here wants to
talk again and interview me with "situational" questions. I had a phone
interview with Kelloggs as well and am being considered for their
opening. We as a family are VERY thankful for your
loving support including the hugs, smiles, kind words of encouragement
and prayers. We are blessed to be members of CPC. In Christ
